Perfectly shiny out of the dishwasher, noticeably substantial and well balanced in the hand, and visually appealing. Usually salad forks sit in the drawer unused, even when I serve salad, but these are shaped like smaller forks and are getting used as much as the standard ones. There is nothing not to love about this item!!

Update:
I have washed this flatware a few times now and after completing the first dishwash cycle, discovered slight rust at the end of the knives. There is also fairly significant spotting. I'm very disappointed since I've washed my other flatware with no problem in this dishwasher, detergent and of course, water. I've not decided what to do in the long run, but will handwash at least for awhile. Very frustrating.

I bought the Sea Drift 45-piece flatware set for my son in July 2009. Time flies... Anyway, he liked the set because it felt and looked good. That was great, but I chose not to write a review because I hadn't washed them, used them or looked at them in person.
That changed this September. I visited him for two weeks and was envious of his flatware. Two years+ of use in my son's house is a pretty good test of flatware. They were in pristine condition, shiny, attractive and no rust spots at all. They have a nicely balanced feel in the hand and the curvy shape pleases my eye. The flatware is wonderful for family or company. It's probably not appropriate for an extra fancy situation, but those occasions are pretty rare.
My old flatware is missing some pieces (four household moves) and looks worse for wear after fifteen years. The price of the 45-piece set is less than two years ago, so next payday, I'm ordering my own. I can hardly wait.
